Aren’t they? Confusing times? In whom can you put your trust?
Especially lately here in the US, with everything going on with Hillary and her emails, Benghazi and still ongoing corruption investigation. Donald Trump being accused of being all talk and no substance. Where is the Country headed in the future? Are you also appalled by injustice? Of any kind wherever you are in the world?
And what about your personal life. In whom can you really place your trust? We all fall short to the glory of God. Absolutely, no reasonable doubt. So are we doomed then? Is there no hope?
What does the Bible say about confusing times and these last days?
I say last days, because these definitely are according to the Word. 1 John 2:18 (KJV) Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
When Christ went back to be with the Father and sit on His right hand, the last days started. I didn’t know that until I actually read that passage. I always thought when I read articles about being in the last days that people were just being sensational. But when you read it in the Word..well..then it is true.
Do you think God is surprised about what is happening?
2 Timothy 3 (KJV) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,4 Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, long suffering, charity, patience,11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
I think it is safe to say that God knows everything from the beginning and is telling us how it will play out.So we know He is God. Now that we see pretty much everything mentioned in 2 Timothy 3 is happening, we need to know that God is in control. He establishes kings and kingdoms. Presidents and governments. He lets the things play out the way He wants them to:
- by making circumstances the way so His will is done,
- as a reaction to kingdoms and governments that turn away from Him or are looking to Him.
I am convinced that God is the ONLY one in whom you can place your trust.
When you are His, He has marked you and your soul is safe. Does that mean that you will live a safe, rich, healthy and abundant life? No. AT least not in this one. Look at what Paul went through! Stoned, chased out of cities, survived a ship wreck..Jesus said that we would be also persecuted for our faith in righteousness. But! Our reward is in heaven! Forever!
So what I learn from all this is to stay close to Him, trust in Him, know that this life is just that. This life. That there is reward in heaven. That confusion isn’t of God and confusing times can be battled by trusting in Him. Always. And by reading my Bible. Of course.
I hope that this will help you a little in confusing times, dark days and when you have trust issues. I most certainly have those. Many times have I been stabbed in the back. But Him! Him I trust. With my life. May He be your Father too if He isn’t already. He loves you, you know.
May God bless you with a calm heart. May you have in your head what I have. The two words: BUT GOD. Whatever goes on, BUT GOD. He is in control and sees things through in His way. We might not see it right here and now, But He does.
